2nd Ballyeaston was the place to be on
Saturday 19th March when over 100 people came along to the Daffodil
Lunch in the Brann Hall. Delicious soup, sandwiches, tray bakes, tea and
coffee were served from noon to 2pm with the proceeds (over £1100) going
to Church funds and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Daffodils decorated the
Hall and the tables, and reflected the Spring sunshine of the day.
Thanks to all who supported the event in any way, and to the many helpers who made the day such a success. |

A Musical Celebration of Harvest -
Harvest in 2nd Ballyeaston began on Saturday evening 17th October, when and members of the congregation and visitors enjoyed readings and music associated with the season in the beautiful surrounding of the Church, decorated for Harvest Thanksgiving. Ronnie Hassard treated us to reflections of times past through the eyes of biblical narrators and local poets. Tanya Laird, the vocal soloist was accompanied by Janine Kinnear, and Sam Brodison was the cornet soloist. Ballyclare Victoria Flute played a medley of favourite pieces and the evening finished with supper in the Brann Hall. Not only was the event an enjoyable reflection on the meaning of harvest but it raised £1460 for the Church Development Appeal. |

He said to them,
‘Let the little
children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Truly
I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little
child will never enter it.’
And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark Ch 10 Vs 14-16 |

Sunday
21st June marked our Children's Day, when the entire service, other than
the Minister's talk, was conducted with the assistance of our young
people. Everyone in the Sunday School had a part to play and it was
enriching to see how willingly they played their roles.
The atmosphere was continued afterwards when the annual barbecue was held in the church grounds and halls. As often happens there was a shower of rain but that didn't spoil the fellowship! |
